Most of my experience with Michael J. Hedeen, P.C. involves assisting with the litigation of personal injury matters, including worker’s compensation claims, on both the plaintiff and defense side.
I also have significant experience in assisting with general litigation matters involving such areas as contracts, mechanics liens, health insurance and disability policies.
I work extensively with clients, health providers and insurers to obtain medical bill information and medical records to compile a summary of that information for settlement demands and also to use as exhibits for trial. Our settlement demands, mediations and trials are prepared using programs such as “Trial Director” inputting, organizing and presenting is my expertise.
In terms of my past experience, the majority of my years as a Paralegal involved assistance with preparing cases for trial, drafting of pleadings, discovery, bankruptcy petitions, preparing corporate books including the annual minutes and reports, estate planning, organizing medical records and expense spreadsheets and attending real estate closings. I also meet with clients and assisted with various types of law such as; family law, probate, municipal law, litigation, corporate law, real estate, personal injury, bankruptcy, collection and estate planning. I have office management experience with training legal support staff to be more effective in law office duties such as organizing files, client billing and office account management. Before becoming a Paralegal, I had a background in nursing which allows me to relate and discuss medical programs and durable medical equipment to assist our personal injury clients with their recovery process.
